The following article will break down the SonicCloud Frisson Control Panel and its functions. This includes how to create a custom hearing Profile with the Tuning Wizard, Tuning Tips, how to manage your Profiles, and how to set your Preferences.
Understanding the SonicCloud Frisson Control Panel
- Close/Minimize Control Panel- Clicking these will simply minimize the SonicCloud Frisson Control Panel. It does not QUIT the SonicCloud Frisson application. Minimizing the Control Panel will still allow SonicCloud Frisson to continue with Processing.
- Expand/Move Control Panel- Hover your mouse over the ‘+’ icon to expand or relocate the control panel. You can also click and drag the panel as needed.
- Hearing Profile Selection Dropdown- Every SonicCloud Frisson account comes pre-loaded with Sample Profiles. Any Profiles that you create will also be available in this dropdown. You can switch between Profiles at any time.
- Volume Control Slider- This is directly connected to your System Volume.
- Ear Selector- This box allows you to adjust a single ear at a time or both simultaneously.
- Profile Management- Clicking the ‘+’ sign next to the Select Profile box allows you to Save, Save As, Rename, or Delete a Profile.
- Processing On/Off Switch- This switch turns on personalized sound for YouTube, Netflix and other applications. However, some conferencing applications like Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc. can override this. So if you don't hear personalized sound while using one of these, verify the speaker output setting in those applications.
- Listening Device- When you have more than one connected listening device, they will appear in this dropdown.
- Processing Light Indicator- When the Processing light is GREEN, this indicates that the software is currently receiving and processing audio. When there is no audio present, the light will turn RED until audio is again present.
- Control Sliders- These sliders move up and down, allowing the user to adjust the settings to their own personal preference.
SonicCloud Frisson Tuning Wizard
The Tuning Wizard will guide you through creating a custom hearing Profile. To access this, go to the Apple menu bar > SonicCloud icon > Help > Tuning Wizard. Follow the prompts throughout the slides. Once completed, your new Profile will be loaded to your Select Profile drop-down.
Tuning Tips
Looking to fine-tune a Profile? Go to the Apple menu bar > SonicCloud icon > Help > Recommendations For Use. Follow the prompts on the screen as this tutorial walks you through the recommended steps for adjusting your Profile(s).
Managing Profiles
To manage your Profiles, click on the ‘+’ sign next to the Select Profiles dropdown:
- Save – This will save any changes you’ve made to the selected Profile.
- Save As – If you've made adjustments to a Profile and like them but don't want to lose the previous Profile settings, select Save As. This will allow you to create and save a new Profile and keep the original as well.
- Rename – This allows you to enter a new name for the current selected Profile.
- Delete – This will permanently delete the current selected Profile.
Preferences Menu
This feature is found by going to the Apple menu bar > SonicCloud icon > Preferences.
Open at Login – Check this box if you would like SonicCloud Frisson to open and launch on the start-up of your device.
Remember Me – This saves your login information.
Controls Transparency – If you would like to keep the Control Panel on your screen but want to make it less visible, you can adjust the transparency here.
Volume Warning trigger – Sets the threshold of your Volume settings. A warning will pop up if you move your Volume slider past the set threshold. We recommend 80% as anything higher than this could be harmful when you switch to a new listening device.
Listening Device Switch – When using more than one listening device on your desktop, these settings will allow you to choose how you’d like to connect the device.
- Automatic - When a new listening device is detected, SonicCloud Frisson will automatically switch and start processing audio on the new device. For example, if using your MacBook speakers and you decide to switch to your AirPods, SonicCloud Frisson will automatically switch from your speakers to your AirPods once connected without any prompts.
- Prompt – This option will generate a pop-up window when a new listening device is detected. To make the switch, you must click OK or manually make the change.
- Manual- Allows the user to make all listening device switches via the Listening Device options on the control panel only.
Quitting SonicCloud Frisson
